Core Aeration And Topdressing
Note: As of March 5, 2020, King GREEN no longer offers topdressing services.
Core aeration from King GREEN opens the soil surface for better air and moisture exchange, as well as deeper penetration of vital nutrients to the root system. This process reduces compaction in Georgia’s clay soils and helps break down excess thatch.
The best time to schedule core aeration is when the grass is actively growing so it can take full advantage of the air pockets created in the soil.
Topdressing is another method for relieving soil compaction. It also reduces thatch buildup, improves drainage, and increases nutrient absorption. By applying sand, we can also help even out low spots in your lawn. Topdressing smooths the surface, allowing for easier mowing and reducing mower blade damage caused by bumpy areas.
WHEN OFFERED, THE KING GREEN TOPDRESSING PROCESS INCLUDED:
Core aeration
Fertilization
Topdressing with PGA-grade sand at a rate of 1 ton per 1,000 sq. ft.
Dragging the sand to expose buried runners and promote spread
Final lawn cleanup before leaving the property
