Lawn Renovation

Lawn renovation is a lot of work, so there are many things that you need to consider before starting a yard renovation venture. It is beneficial to try and figure out why your lawn depreciated in the first place. This way you can take corrective measures to fix and hopefully prevent this depreciation from happening during the lawn renovation process. A lot of times the problem seems to be the types of grasses that people are planting. Often times, people plant a type of grass that is not tolerant to the climate or environment that they live in.

Before attempting a lawn renovation, consult one of our experts for further information. Some lawns get in such bad shape or are too full of perennial grasses, such as Bermuda or Dallis Grass (see Weeds and Diseases) that they need to be completely killed before seeding. When you think that you need a yard renovation, remember that it is A LOT OF WORK.

1 to 2 applications of a non-selective herbicide on areas to be renovated.
Heavy dethatching and raking prior to aeration and seeding is very important.
Follow aeration and seeding as outlined earlier.
