Pest Prevention
Wednesday November 09, 2011 - As we all know, this is the time of year when ants and roaches try to make their way into our homes. Pests are seeking a warm place to reside. We at King GREEN IPM would like to give you a few pest prevention tips to make sure our quarterly treatments continue to be effective.
- Make sure that all shrubbery is trimmed back away from your house. Often ants avoid our barrier entirely by climbing across branches.
- Keep your gutters clean. Leaves, pine needles, and small sticks can create a perfect, moist home for pests.
- Roaches, ants and other pests come in to find water. Fix any leaks and be sure pipes are free of condensation.
- Keep woodpiles away from the home. Frequently clean leaves and debris from the lawn and landscape.
-Use weather stripping or caulk to seal cracks and crevices.
